NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR ZONING CHANGE

Please take notice that a public hearing will be held on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Harmony Town Hall, 440 N. Hwy. 14, to consider the following application:

Application by James K. and Ellie Risch for a zoning change of 7.2 acres of parcel # 6-7-15 located at 6141 E Bingham Road for the purpose of selling the tillable ground to an adjoining land owner with the owner keeping the house, farm buildings and woods. The parcel is currently zoned A-1. The request is to change the zoning of 7.2 acres of the parcel to A-3. The legal description is as follows: SW 1/2, SE 1/4, Section 2, T 3 N  R 13 E, Harmony Township, Rock County, Wisconsin.

Any person interested and/or affected by these changes will be given a chance to express their opinions at this time. A quorum of members of the Planning and Zoning committee may be in attendance for the purpose of gathering information.

Budget Working Session

 

TOWN OF HARMONY 

The Harmony Town Board will meet at 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Harmony Town Hall, 440 N. Hwy. 14, Janesville. This meeting will be a working session for the 2011 budget.

A quorum of the Planning and Zoning Committee may attend this meeting for information gathering purposes.

Meetings are open to the public and town residents are encouraged to attend. The town clerk may be reached at 868-6065.

The purpose of this public hearing will be to hear public comment on the following:

Public hearing to amend Chapter 1 of the municipal code, zoning ordinance, to change the maximum permitted size of attached garages in certain zoning districts.

All persons having an interest in these proposed changes are encouraged to attend and offer their comments.

The Harmony Town Board will meet at 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 4, 2010 at the Harmony Town Hall, 440 N. Hwy. 14, Janesville.

This meeting will include the public hearing to amend Chapter 1 of the municipal code, zoning ordinance, to change the maximum permitted size of attached garages in certain zoning districts. Other items on the agenda include discussion and possible action on the recertification of the town?s farmland preservation plan, building permit fees, assessment letter fees and setting the date for the budget working session. Regular items on the agenda include approval of bills, reports from the treasurer, building inspector and zoning officer, and upcoming events. 

A quorum of the Planning and Zoning Committee may attend this meeting for information gathering purposes.

The Planning and Zoning Committee will meet to discuss and give their recommendation conerning the ordinance to amend Chapter 1 of the Municipal Code to change the maximum permitted size of garages in certain zoning district. This is an open meeting for anyone to attend.

The recommendation will be forwarded to the Town Board for the public hearing on October 4, 2010, 7:00 p.m. at the Harmony Town Hall, 440 N Hwy 14, Janesville, WI.

TOWN OF HARMONY NEWS

The Harmony Town Board will meet at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the Harmony Town Hall, 440 N. Hwy. 14, Janesville.

This meeting will include discussion and possible action on the lapsed building permit for the Woodland Church, possible zoning violations on the Property owned by Lubertdale Farms located at 4621 Henke Road, Milton, a change in the garage sizes permitted in the zoning ordinances, water problems in the Starview Heights Subdivision, the development agreement with the Vineyard Land Company and paving roads in The Vineyard Subdivision. The meeting may go into closed session pursuant to Sec. 19.85(1)(g) of the Wisconsin Statutes to confer with counsel concerning strategy to be adopted with respect to litigation in which the town is or likely to become involved and Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(e) consideration of amendment of development agreement with the Vineyard Land Company concerning roads. Regular items on the agenda include approval of bills, reports from the treasurer, building inspector and zoning officer, and upcoming events.

Voting by Absentee Ballot for Fall Partisan Primary

 

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT FOR FALL PARTISAN PRIMARY

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on election day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on election day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 10 days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot.

TO OBTAIN AN ABSENTEE BALLOT YOU MUST MAKE A REQUEST IN WRITING.

Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both. You may also request an absentee ballot by letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature.

Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk.

You can also personally go to the clerk's office or other specified location, complete a written application, and vote an absentee ballot. Please call ahead to set up absentee voting time.

(MILITARY ELECTORS SHOULD CONTACT THE MUNICIPAL CLERK REGARDING THE DEADLINES FOR REQUESTING OR SUBMITTING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT.

THE DEADLINE FOR VOTING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN THE CLERK'S OFFICE IS 5:00 P.M., ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2010.

ALL VOTED BALLOTS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE MUNICIPAL CLERK SO THE CLERK CAN DELIVER THEM TO THE PROPER POLLING PLACE OR COUNTING LOCATION BEFORE THE POLLS CLOSE ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2010.. ANY BALLOTS RECEIVED AFTER THE POLLS CLOSE WILL NOT BE COUNTED.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportatin will be holding an open house for resident/property owners in the right of way and/or with property access changes along State Highway 26 between Janesville and Milton.
