Harmony News – Three Upcoming Meetings

 

TOWN OF HARMONY NEWS

The Town of Harmony Planning and Zoning Committee will be meeting at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2013. This meeting will include discussion and possible on two applications. The first application is from Johnson Tractor requesting a lot combination of parcels 6-7-269.1 and 6-7-459. Both parcels are owned by Johnson Tractor. The second application is from Frank Family LLC, Roger Frank, requesting a transfer of land between adjoining land owners adding .11 acre from parcel 6-7-12 owned by James Woolstrum to parcel 6-7-12.1 owned by Frank Family LLC.

The Town of Harmony Town Board will meet immediately following the Planning and Zoning Committee on Thursday April 11, 2013. This will be the second meeting considering the Conditional Use Permit Application from Frank Bros requesting an additional access/driveway to their gravel pit located on M-H Townline Road. The purposed access point would be located on Milton-Shopiere Road.

The Town of Harmony Annual Meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m., April 16, 2013. Items on the agenda include: approval of minutes from the last annual meeting, presentation of Annual Statement of receipts and expenditures for the year ending 2012, and a resolution to exceed the town’s highway expenditure limit of $236,300. 

All meetings will be held at the Harmony Town Hall, 440 N Hwy 14, Janesville. A quorum of the Planning and Zoning Committee or the Town Board may attend these meetings for information gathering purposes.

Please take notice that a public hearing will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Harmony Town Hall, 440 N. Hwy. 14, to consider the following application for a variance:

Application from Johnson Tractor requesting setback variances for proposed additions to the north and east of the existing building located at 1110 Highway 14 East (1110 N US Hwy 14), Janesville, parcel #6-7-269.1. The legal description is as follows:

PT NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 & SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 (Certified Survey Map VOL 5 PG 8&29 Lot 1) of Section 27, T 3 N – R 13 E, Harmony Township, Rock County, Wisconsin. This parcel is located on the corner of US Hwy 14 and Case Drive on the east side of Janesville south of E County Road A.

A quorum of the Town Board may be present at this meeting for information gathering purposes.

Pulic Hearing for Zoning Change

NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR ZONING CHANGE

Please take notice that a public hearing will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Harmony Town Hall, 440 N. Hwy. 14, to consider the following application:

Application by United Supply LLC for a zoning change of 3+ acres of parcel # 6-7-131A located at 3727 N Henke Road for the purpose of splitting off the existing residence and pole barn. The parcel is currently zoned A-2. The request is to change the zoning of 3+ acres of the parcel to A-3. The legal description is as follows: N 30A NE 1/4 NE 1/4 (EXC CSM 12-318), Section 15, T 3 N  R 13 E, Harmony Township, Rock County, Wisconsin. Location of parcel is 3727 N Henke Road.

Town Board Meeting

The Harmony Town Board will meet at 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Harmony Town Hall, 440 N. Hwy. 14, Janesville.

This meeting will include discussion and possible action on a temporary picnic license and a temporary bartender license for Rock Prairie Montessori School, the public hearing to amend the Conditional Use Permit for Frank Bros. Pit adding a proposed access point on Milton-Shopiere Road, parking issues on Morgan Way, cemetery and road side clean up, 2013 brush cutting, 2013 Road Work, financing road work, and set the dates for Open Book and Board of Review. Regular items on the agenda include approval of bills, reports from the treasurer, building inspector and zoning officer, and upcoming events. 
A quorum of the Planning and Zoning Committee may attend this meeting for information gathering purposes.

Voting by Absentee Ballot in the April 2, 2013 Election

 

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT
IN THE APRIL 2, 2013 SPRING ELECTION

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. . 

TO OBTAIN AN ABSENTEE BALLOT YOU MUST MAKE A REQUEST IN WRITING.

Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both. You may also request an absentee ballot by letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature.

Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk.

You can also personally go to the clerk's office or other specified location, complete a written application, and vote an absentee ballot during the hours specified for casting an absentee ballot.

Conditional Use Permit Application and Amendment Public Hearing

Please take notice that two public hearings will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Harmony Town Hall, 440 N. Hwy. 14, to consider the following items:
1) Application from Robert Orthey requesting a Conditional Use Permit to allow for the storage of fencing material on the property outside of the building with plans for the storage area to be fenced and screened. The property is located just south of the Hwy 26 and Harmony Townhall interchange at 4564 E Cress Ct. directly north of the parcel located at 5343 N Harmony Townhall Road.
