Regular Town Board Meeting & Two Public Hearings

 

TOWN OF HARMONY NEWS

The Harmony Town Board will meet at 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Harmony Town Hall, 440 N. Hwy. 14, Janesville.

This meeting will include two public hearings. The fist public hearing is for the zoning change application for the parcel owned by Terrance McCann located at 2508 N Harmony Townhall Road. The second public hearing is for the zoning change application for the parcel owned by United Supply to enlarge the parcel located 3727 N Henke Road. 

Other items on the agenda include discussion and possible action on county land division ordinance going into effect January 2012 including the Memorandum of Agreement with Rock County, possible ordinance for certain additions to nonconforming structures, Rock County Humane Society 2012 contract, adjustment of 2011Levy limit from $192,151 to $192,068, Rock County Public Works Contract, Resolution for transfer of funds to the Public Works and Public Safety accounts for the 2011 budget, set the date for the Caucus for Spring Election, appointment of election workers and possible motion to go into closed session pursuant to Wis. Statute Section 19.35(1)(e) and 19.85(1)(g) to discuss negotiations with M&I Bank relating to Town’s mortgage on Vineyard property, and to confer with legal counsel who is rendering advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the Board in litigation in which the Board is likely to become involved.

Regular items on the agenda include approval of bills, reports from the treasurer, building inspector and zoning officer, and upcoming events. 

A quorum of the Planning and Zoning Committee may attend this meeting for information gathering purposes.

Harmony residents please note that the town’s waste hauler will switch to Rock Disposal Inc. beginning January 2012. Garbage collection day will change to Mondays with the first pick-up day being January 2, 2012. More information will be mailed to residents within the next few weeks.
